Theology

A few years later, one more adorable child, a precious grandchild, a doctoral degree and a great deal more confidence and I am back on blogger. Why? I was ran off by readers who were curious about the midwife with a growing practice, who calls herself a Christian, and who blogged openly about her thoughts, short-comings and her heart's desire. I didn't write to an audience. I wrote because in writing, I was better able to understand my thoughts. This is the process of my mind, but it left me vulnerable to all those curious readers who didn't care to understand, but instead were eager to criticize and judge. Blogging was no longer cathartic. It was more like being picked on in elementary school on the play ground. I hadn't a mind of writing to be understood by others. I knew my intentions, and knew the state of my heart.

I am older now and in a new season of my life, and I return because it is more disconcerting not to document all the wonders I am privy too - especially the wonders of Simon - than to leave things unsaid, in the shelter of the silence. I am returning with optimism that I will care more about the glorious unfolding of the Lord working in my life, than the comments of men to anyone of my posts.

Tonight I am documenting my first step into a new season of life, my entry into yet another graduate degree - Biblical Theology. Why? I seek to better understand my faith.
